Introducing the FacilityTCO.com Blog
Thursday, April 24th, 2008Hello,
I’m excited to enter the world of blogging and talk about topics that hit home for business officers and facility managers. I’ve spent my entire career in the industry and enjoy speaking on the subject.
The URL of my blog sheds light on where I will focus my posts-TCO. In my experience, understanding and taking advantage of true “total cost of ownership” or “total cost of operations” data can only happen when facility related systems are interoperable or better yet, seamlessly combined into one powerful system.
The technology is available to make this all happen, but in my experience, many of the technologies and methodologies currently employed in the industry aren’t conducive to maximizing TCO or asset lifecycle data. Frankly, I often see organizations who are wasting A LOT of money on antiquated tools and inefficient facility management processes.
It’s the synergy between methodology and technology that allows facility managers and/or business officers to truly optimize their facilities. The software must support the business process. Too many software applications out there do not.
So what do you do?
Hopefully my posts will enlighten and inspire on the subject.
For now, welcome to FacilityTCO.com and I hope you’ll become a regular visitor.
